Rear Tranny Mount thickness ?

Recommended Posts

Can someone please provide me with the dimensions of the rubber bush

that supports the back of the tranny ?

What height should the tranny sit above the crossmember ?

Ref the attached image.

The PO used a locally available bush, but I suspect that the height is incorrect.

thanks in advance

PS. I know the bolts on the guibo need to be swopped.

another way of gauging if the mount is 'correct'

if the drive shaft alignment is straight so

when it's hand rotated the Guibo does not

flex and wobble which causes a failure.

So fit a mount that maintains a tru running front

shaft Guibo- it maybe called a "flex coupling"

but they dont last long flexing and wobbling

see...??02driveshaftandguiboinstall.jpg

there are a few mount options

standard 2002,

or others from larger model bmws - others here might offer

model and part numbers. Wait................
