Head gasket torque question

I have read through a whole bunch of the posts using the Site Search, but I have one (probably dumb) question.

After the second step angle torqueing (33º +/- 3º) you then bring the engine up to operating temp - after adjusting valves.

But I cannot find whether the final 25º +/- 5º tightening is done with the engine still warm, or do you wait for it to cool back down - probably 3+ hours.

Thanks for baby-sitting my ignorance.

For what it's worth, I drove mine to work, (short drive), and retorqued the following day...

Finally found the answer, from BMW Technical Information Service Bulletin.

The final angle torque is done while the engine is still warm. Just shut it off, and apply the final angle torque.

Never knew any of this! Great Question. I learn something new every time I am on the FAQ.
