Hi fellas,

I' contemplating the purchase of this car

http://www.truck2hand.com/index.php?module=InnoForum&func=list&ctrl=posts&id=214988

its in Thailand and owner wants 1300usd for it I know its expensive but that's Thai prices, I have a freshly rebuilt m10 to drop in it and plan to warp it in vynil first as I dont have enough funds to do the paint now.

Please share your comments is it too rusty to save?

way too rusty, IMO. If it were for sale here I would think twice even if it were offered for free....

Do you yourself live in Thailand? If so, that might change my perspective, as I would think there aren't too many '02 opportunities there.

$1300 is alot of money in Thailand. Maybe in Thai Baht ...

there seems to be quite a few 02s in Thailand, but have no idea on price. Not really a candidate for a wrap as it looks like a large skim of filler has simply fallen off and is now covered in surface rust.

Looks like a right dog, with poorly repaired accident damaged rear-end, home made sills and who knows what else. Do you know the Brit by the forum name of Somchai? He's over on the UK forum a lot and is restoring a lovely 02 - he might have a contact for a better car as that will be almost certainly be a bag of trouble.

Thanks for the input guys, I think i rather wait for a better opportunity though the owner says it has only surface rust and no cancer which need to be verified.

The car is about 800 miles away and don't feel like wasting my time on a bucket of rust. (if i dont find a better opp., might give it a chance :-)

here is below some other 1602's and 2002's for sale in the LOS (TH) enjoy:

PS: Nick I already contacted Somchai on the UK forum see if he knows any opportunity I cross my fingers for some good 02.

Thanks

Omar
