PartNo. of heatshield

Wondering if anyone knows the partno of the heatshield protecting the idle arm on the center steering rod?

Could see it on realoem, but no partno..

Read here it´s important, but my car hasn´t had one the 20 years I´ve owned it.. Not o.e. in all countries/year models?

Ah.. Tried searching, doesn´t come up until you click the "USA"-box.

It cooks your idler arm bushing a bit faster but I wouldnt worry about it too much.

Apparently there are/were 3 different part numbers for this.

The two for the US only cars (but not the tii) are NLA.

However, part # 31 11 1 114 434 was for the Turbo and is available.

Do not think Euro cars (other than the Turbo) had them.
