Tranny seepage

Please excuse my ignorance:

I was told that the car that I'm interested in has some minor trans seepage due to a worn or damaged O ring. Fixing the problem would involve removing exhaust, drive shaft and guibo. YOur input on cost of labor as O ring is a $6 part. What should I look for? Is this a sign of something more major? Thanks.

It's actually a seal, not an o- ring,

but almost every car leaks a bit from there.

As Tommy says, most of us don't deal with it

until there's another reason to take the exhaust,

etc off...

if it stops leaking - then yer gear box is dry!

so........ change the oil now so you at least know your starting

with filled, correct, clean oil in there.
