BMW 2002 project from Moscow (Russia)

Hi everybody.

I'am sorry for my english, but i'll try my best

My name is Nodar, and i'am from Moscow (Russia).

Here we have a lots of fancy and great cars on every corner, but my dream and my mission was to find some great retro body for my first serious car project. In Russia there are like 5 or 7 maximum BMW '02 at all. And this car was my choice. I spent a lot of time finding it here - near Moscow, but i have done it and now i am building very interesting project on BMW 02' body.

In russia we have only one well-known blog-site about cars and i am writing there my blog in russian language. But i feel not comfort there, because nobody can help me with some advices or few words about our way of building this car.

So, know i decided to split our progress with you, dear 02' fans and want to ask you to be open and clearly fair discussing and helping us to build our car.

On russia blog-site (link is after text) i posted a lot of topics about our progress and now i choose the most interesting stages and pictures to share them with you and to discuss our work with everybody here.

My BMW was made in 1967 year and i found it few month ago not far from Moscow. I bought it for 4k$ and she looked disgusting, cos last 5 years owner of this car didn't touched it at all.

So the first photos of BMW, when i saw it firs time:

Then i brought it to moscow to my good friends in theirs custom service named "Sport Construction Department" and we started to think what we can do with this piece of metal.

After some discussions we decided to buy one more BMW in E36 body and to use engine (m50b25), suspension and transmission from this E36.

This is our donor BMW E36 525:

Then i decided to save in my mind the original-looking BMW '02 till we started our planed works and we made a nice photo-session for BMW. Girls included, of course.

Then we started to swap suspension and engine from E36.

Our mission is to install M50b25 engine in 02' and after run test to make turbo install on this engine, like it is already made on drift BMW E34 of "SportCD" service owner.

So, here are some pics of our progress on BMW 02' body.

We bought new M3 (e36) coil overs and installed them on BMW '02 with everything same as on E36.

I don't know how you say it in english, but you'll recordnize this detail

Then we cleaned everything using sand under big pressure:

Then we tried to install engine. We decided to use center tunnel from E36 with transmission.

Then we deleted rusty floor and started to make new from 1.2mm metal slides.

This is our progress till this moment. Hope you enjoy our enthusiasm and help us with some good advices.

Welcome! Its a great day when you finally find your car. The project looks to be in good hands. Keep us posted. What color? I think you should paint it to match the color of the model's heels.
