What is this thingy?

CIMG0108.jpg

The small cylindrical object sitting on the lower part of the head.

Anyone know what to call this thingy and how many of them I need? It fits in three of the head bolt holes where the head meets the block. Since I only have one, yet it fits in three places, I am assuming that I am missing two.

Any advice on this? I'm wondering what it is called so i can order it if necessary.

Thanks in advance!

Sean

look at the top of the block - the guide tubes fit into special cut holes,

to limit their depth - the guides get installed on the block -

not the head. It locates the head gasket, and locates the head -

keeps everything from shifting during all of it's heat cycles.

Only two per block - not three

and not into the hole that the guide is sitting next to in

your photo!

The next hole over has the recess cut to accomendate

the guide
