How do you find a short?

Swapped out the existing bulb w/ another; re-installed the turnsignal properly (w/ both screws), threw the headlight switch and the fuse held!

Took the turnsignal over to my brother-in-law's place and he was poking around w/ his DMM. He was baffled as there was no evidence of a short in the body. Pulled the bulb that came w/ the unit and when he did a resistance test (?) discovered that the resistance on the "new" bulb was much greater than on an older bulb.

Just for grins, we swapped out the bulb with the thought of getting back together later to run some fresh wiring.

That appears to have taken care of the issue. Strangely an anti-climatic end to an on-going headache.

Next stop - a safety inspection and she'll be ferrying me to work and other places!
