Back in the early 70's, Opel was BMW's biggest German showroom competitor, too bad Opel pulled out of the U.S. market around 77-78 timeframe.

I had a new '75 Sportwagon in red with black interior. Bought it after my '73 Manta Rallye. The fuel injectors (the metal) were the main problem since they were not compatible with the gas in US. They all had to be recalled and replaced and the waiting time was painful. Nice cars otherwise. -Raine
