BMW Motorsport Steering Wheel

Anybody know where you can get just the motorsport emblem. I recently took out this different style motorsport wheel from a euro 323i. I think this wheel was only offered on the M1 and on a euro 535m. You can see that someone stuck a regular BMW logo over top of the motorsport emblem, but I can't get them apart. I know the wheel is dirty. Cleaning it and rewrapping the leather will be a nice Winter project.

I have had a couple of those steering wheels. The two I had were different diameters one around 350mm and the other 375MM. One came fron a 320/6 E21 Baur convertible and I think it was original to that car the other someone had put on a 2002. Both had the regular BMW roundel. I think those may have been some kind of BMW Lux steering wheel. I think I still have the larger one somewhere.

Try rubbing it with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Sorry for the hi-jack, but related.

I like my M-Tech steering wheel from an early e-28 (coarse splines).

It took a little re-engineering to move the horn contact to the column so it would match up with the contact ring on the wheel itself, but was pretty easy (once the lightbulb came on in my head) and works perfectly. No horn or Turn cancelling issues at all.

Wheel has a very nice feel to it. These are getting rare, but not too hard to come by if you look.

I replaced the oem center roundel with a new oem roundel emblem (not pictured) because the original was scratched and didn't match the overall condition of the wheel. These pics were taken before the wheel was cleaned up and treated, now the center is all nice and dark black.

Paid $80 for the wheel (eBay), $8 for a new Carbon Pin and $6 for the new center roundel. The spacer is a re-worked (Dremelled) piece of Delrin I had laying around.

BTW, who can spot the inconsistency in pic #4?

Cheers!

My son and I both have the motorsport or M tec one E24 steering wheel on out 2002s from and early 6 series ( course spline). There is a gap under the wheel when the steering wheel is used on a 2002, so i cut down the plastic shround on a 320i sport wheel and fasting it the the bottom M tec wheel with three small screws and it looks great.
