My Supersprint is mine, unfortunately unobtainium if available, and mine is going on seven years and one weld job. Probably go back to stock as the Ansa Sport is to loud.

P.S. You guys are killing me!! I did run an Ansa but to be honest at 58 years young and 26 of them flying, Hueys, Cobras, Chinooks, Gazelles and Lynx I need to preserve what hearing I have left. LOL

Depends on what you want. I love my Ansa, but others think its too loud and obnoxious. I've had it with and without a resonator, I liked both. Stomping on it above 4K is awesome. I'm still young at 26, and enjoy loud things. Let us know what you're looking for and I'm sure you'll get all the info you need. HTH.

Justin,

If I may....I am in the process of having the head rebuilt on my 75. I'm going with a european grind cam, and was thinking of going to a header and replacing the muffler.

I am familiar with "flowmasters", Borlas, etc on Chevy's....how does the Anza compare in noise level? Also, do you recommend a header for our cars, if so, which one?

BTW....bottom end of my engine is stock.

Thanks,

Brett

I can't hear the small can ansa sport in my 02 at all over 4k rpm. all i hear is intake noise from the DCOE's. it is awesome. I am still young at 51, and enjoy having to wear ear plugs in my 100db e36 race car...:-)

Brett -

Can't really compare Flows/Borla on a Chevy (super deep and "heavy") to any exhaust for a 2002. Totally different sounds. To me, the Ansa has a throaty/raspy tune. If you like a Chevy V8 with flows, the Ansa might be up your alley as far as noise level. As far as headers go, I don't know. I'm in California where '76's still have to pass smog. But I've read that the tii manifold is a great bolt on upgrade. Stahl headers and IE step headers are good too I read, but require some work.

mlytle - That is an issue I wouldn't mind having. Nice!

Curious what you have for the center pipe. ANSA resonator? Bosal Resonator? Straight pipe? I think the Big Bosal softens the tone.

2 people I know have the Bosal center & ANSA sport & it sounds really nice, but soft. I tried the ANSA center resonator w/ teh ANSA sport & it sounded like a turret gun. I also have loud side-drafts.

Here's a sound clip of it:

oh ya, so I have been very happy w/ the ANSA muffler that similar to stock.

John,

Helos be noisey...especially the Chinook where you sit right under the fwd transmission....no VIP soundproofing in those beasts. Don't need to loose any more hearing to a noisy muffler.....

It's those damn APU's on the ramp that will be my undoing.

I like the sound of a glass pac (take your pic) and something like a Magnaflow. There is something about the shape of the 02 that makes a resonator a necessity.
