  1. That's really cool you have a 1965 1800Ti. This "Ti" emblem came off an early 65 or late 64 1800ti. It cost me nothing. So, I'm considering giving it to you so that your emblem is complete. Where are you located ? Are you in Fullerton ? It looks like you were born at about the time I found this emblem. Did you just recently acquire the white 1800ti which was up for sale down here in SoCal ? Do you have any pics of your car ?

Here is a few pics i happen to have on my phone.
Yes this is the white one that was for sale in SoCal. Sold on BaT in 2015 and now to me I believe. By the time I obtained it, it had lost all the Ti specific parts (carbs included). Talking to Mitch Brookheyser, he said my car should have come with the gold emblems. I got the gold steering wheel from him, the gold roundels, now the rear ‘1800’ emblem from Israel and just missing the ‘TI’ badges.
I made a thread on the NK page asking for parts. Just missing a few interior bits now. A little more info on the car there.
I feel bad getting something for free. Maybe a part you need I could trade? Or beer?

That appears to be a nice car. Did it have rust issues ? It looks like you cleaned it up and addressed the body.

I have plenty of parts, including instrument clusters, but I don't have a working speedo for my 1600-2, geared for the 4.10-4.11 diff. All the speedos I have are broken. I used to get them from Pick A Part, but all of that has dried up long ago. I suppose I can get one of the speedos repaired, but those speedo repair shops are crazy, asking $400 to just touch it. If you have a working used one, that would be great. I'd purchase it from you. Somebody was selling a NOS 1600-2 speedo on e-bay for $200. That's a good price. considering it's supposedly NOS. So, maybe I'll get that one.

I saw your 1800ti advertised on the internet in the $6,500 range. But, by the time I called, you got it. I've been keeping an eye out for one for years. There is a guy in Eagle Rock, near Pasadena, who has an 1800  along with a 700 sitting in his yard. They've been sitting there for 30 years or so. The guy once worked for Alpine Wrecking Yard in the area which specialized in classic BMWs. So, when that place went under he acquired those cars for nothing. I've talked to him last year, but he doesn't seem interested in getting rid of them. They must be rusting sitting there under a tree and overgrown with weeds.

Some of the NKs that ended up at Pick A Part and U pick Part yards were pretty clean. I carefully inspected them back during the early to mid-90s. And, they went to the crusher complete as few people were removing parts from them. This includes all the trim and grilles, interior parts etc. If the "Ti" air canister wasn't on the carbs, I usually found it in the trunk. I grabbed a lot of those along with the steering wheels, which I gave away or traded for 02 parts over the years. Last year I gave away my last NK steering wheel, the wood three spoke from a 2000. I gave it to an old acquintance who I didn't see over 22 years. I went to the local Home Depot where I saw one of the cleanest NKs I've come across. The owner who walked up happened to be this guy who dated the sister of my girlfriend from that time. He was into American muscle cars, back then, but he always stared at my Granada 69 1600-2. I guess that's what got him thinking about BMWs. Well, his 69 2000 is complete, except for the non-original steering wheel. That's why I gave it to him. It could be used on an 02 as well, but i don't like the feel of wood steering wheels when it gets hot and sticky. The salvage yards were   asking less than $10 for those steering wheels back then.

Does your car have the original motor, or is it equipped with a 2.0L ? How about the trans ?

Do you have a shop or warehouse ? It looks like you have plenty of parts etc.

Right now it has a 2.0L with weber 45 sidedrafts. And a getrag 245 5 speed. Not sure if I’m keeping it in there or not at this point. Not running at this point as the PO never finished the swap or hooking up the linkage and what not.

Car looks good from 10 feet, but has several rust holes (roof, doors, floor pan). Looks like sombody took it to Maako for paint at some point. The plan was to chemically dip the car, fix the rust and then repaint it.

I have plenty of 02 parts of course except for that spedometer…
