    Thanks for the info Tom, btw here is a pic of the 118 head i'm considering could you tell if it would fit my early NK engine bore 3rd oversize 85mm mahle pistons? and the intake ports seem to have enlarged while the exhaust ports look round.

    Thanks Rey I have a 85mm bore for my NOS 3rd oversize NOS mahle pistons, and I found a 118 head from 1980 that probably has the combustion chamber for 89mm bore will that be alright? or should I look for an earlier 118 head? Thanks

    Is there any available manifold for 2bbl weber downdraft to match the smaller round ports from the NK 1800 118 head? Thanks

    I just got a brand new set of NOS Mahle pistons and I'm not sure they will have a good CR with the 1.8i e30 head or if the valves will hit the pistons? Thanks

    Hi Tom, thank you for a super helpful reply, I didnt know that the synchro rings either could be swapped and flipped over to use the less worn side :-) thats gonna save me some time to look for a more recent 4spd tranny or a 5 spd as the cost of replacing the synchros is unbelievably high. thanks Omar

    Hi Tom, Thank your for your reply, I have finally checked whether i can switch the pick up tube and finally the answer is no, my old pump have a smaller body with 4 bolts, where the pick up tube is so cant fit it on the new style pump that has a bigger body with about 6 bolts. I will return it to top end just hope that they will exchange it as i already emailed them about it the day i received it. otherwise i'll have to look for the more recent longer pick up tube if anyone has one? Thanks

    Hi Preyupy, In fact my car had the old style pump on it and I dont think there was any modification on the engine so that it suits the new style pump, could you please let me know what needs to be done to manage to get the new oil pump to run beside switching the pick up? Thank you for your advice.

    Thanks John, I plan to get a stock 02 cam with a 02 mech dizzy, I guess this should work just fine :-).

    Hi everyone I actually have an NK 1800 with 318i 1985 head with stock carb and manifold that does seem to have smaller intakes then the head, is the problem will be the same with a weber conv & cannon manifold?
