  1. Hi Todd, I live in Thailand and I'm looking for a right hand drive exhaust header for my NK 1800, 1967. Are there any available in Australia or do you happen to have any for sale? Thanks Omar

  3. Hi Nate, I'm contemplating the purchase of Bilsteins HD for my NK 1800 1967 do you have any updates on the fitment of these strut inserts for the NK and what springs would work? stock or H&R from the 02 ? Thanks
  4. Thank you all for your advice, I will go the safety route and disassemble the head before sending it to the TIG welder as the area damaged is very close to of the rocker arms and needs to be hammered back to its place from the inside.
  5. Thanks for your suggestions everyone, really appreciate the solidarity and mutual support of the members on this forum. Unfortunately I'm located in Thailand (head was shipped from Arizona) so I can't use any of your contacts :-(, however there is some shops locally that perform TIG welding I just have to find the right one :-). Just another question would you recommend disassembling the head before the welding process(remove cam, rockers, valves etc..)? does the heat might damage these components? Thanks
  6. Thanks for your quick input, actually the head is a new cast never used so I'm considering the welding option, any particular recomendation on the welding technique needed in this case? As for the insurance claim I'm working it out with the seller but seems to be a hassle and dont know if there will be any outcome from it.
  7. I just bought this head and it has been damaged during shipping is there anyway to fix it? plse see pix below
  8. Well finally the head reached Thailand, I picked it up earlier today. The good news is that it's indeed a new casting with all new components, the BAD NEWS is that it has been damaged during shipping all the bolts are bent and there is a 2cm crack on the the top of the head near the timing gear :-( I don't know if it can be fixed, Ill post some pics tomorrow.
  9. Hi there, I finally got the proper NK oil pump and now I need that pipe and galley nut you were talking about, do you still have one? if yes please send me a mail to this address: omarelmhammedi@yahoo.com
  10. Num 15 is the oil pump shim which is not the most important part. If you have that exact pipe and the O rings together with the screw that goes on it please send some pics here is my email. omarelmhammedi@yahoo.com The diagram is from BMW mobile tradition for all 2002 and NK models with the later style splined shaft oil pump. thanks
  11. Its part number 19, 20x3, 21, 15 on the diagram below:
  12. Hi, Do you still have the water neck from your car available? as I'm going for a Lynx SSD conversion and I need an e21 water neck. Thanks
  13. Thanks Tom, appears to be the same supplier. Still does anyone if the 02 struts and shocks can be used in later NKs from 1966 to 1972? this would be interesting to know for all of us NK guys.
  14. Hi Roger, WOW that's quite pricey, did you hear about someone using the 02 strut inserts and springs as a direct fit in the NK's from 1966 to 1972, I think Nate williams did that, also on another thread its mentionned that Korman auto works stated the same that 02 strut inserts where a direct fitment? any feed back from you? Thanks
  15. Hi Roger, Great info, can you tell us how much was the price for these struts + shocks? I'm also looking for a new suspension for my NK 1800 from 1967 in Thailand thanks
  16. I've got some verticals, but I'll keep my eyes open for the horizontal ones. I'd also check German Ebay. Hi Mike, How much do you want for the vertical ones?
  17. Hi Nate, great thread I also have an NK 1800 from 1967 under restoration, I also wanted to use the 02 strut inserts and shocks please keep posting the steps that need to be done to achieve this. Thanks Omar
  18. Thanks to all for the feed back, I will get a new crank sprocket as well to make sure that everything fits tight and assemble the pressure relief valve properly.
  19. Thanks your diagram is very useful I already got it from another post, but still do I have to change the crank sprocket as well when I install this pump?
  20. Hi C.D, You mean its reliable? I also found out that my timing gear at the crank had slight difference of splines with the oil pump sprocket does it need to be changed to a more recent one? Thanks
  21. I just got a new Febi oil pump for my rebuild, is it a risky move does anyone has this pump running on their NK? Thanks
