In any trade, there are many competent technicians. But the true craftsmen are hard to find. These are the people who don't just know how to use the tools but have a unique talent and passion for getting it right. A few months ago I watched a carpenter replace a double entry door the old-fashioned way. Not a pre-hung door, but jambs cut and fitted on site, then then hinges matched from door to jamb. He spent most of a day on it and it was perfect when he finished. Reminded me of watching my father do it 50 years ago, when there were no pre-hung doors. As for the best auto body and paint people, the ones I have known are off the beaten path. You could drive by and not know, because they have no sign by the road or on their shop, and they do not advertise. But if you can find the right one, you will be happy with the results.
