  1. I have one for each side from a '68. Let me know if you don't find anything local. BTW I am curious on the difference between early and late model windows.
  2. I have one from a 68 in very good condition. shoot me an email if you haven't found one yet. robert at yahoo dot com
  3. Oh id like a little more than that... although i'm not looking to shoot the moon here. BTW how did your dash repair go? I am dying to see the results... will you be posting a pic anytime soon?
  4. This one is in good shape! Left side No cracks, no bulb burns. $40. I also have a right side lens (w/repaired cracks and a bulb burn) for $10.
  5. hey jeff - your car looks amazing. really great work on the instrument panel. To be honest I like yours (with painted chrome) better than a re-chrome. The subtle effect vs the over shine is nice. Love the early dash on on yours as well. Those 67's had a lot bling! Im noticing another difference here though, was the top portion of the surround supposed to remain black originally or all sliver? Personally i like the two tone effect. -rd
  6. just curious if you had already changed any of your electrical first before adding leds to your gauge lights. I attempted to put leds in my running lights but the voltage difference affected the rest of the system. Im going to eventually swap over to an electronic flasher/relay to solve the problem.

  8. thanks julio and dirk. yes its for the cluster i initially had on ebay, i will eventually put it up for sale again - but thought id have some fun with it first in restoring it and learning more about its history.
  9. Either one will do. Email at robert at yahoo dot com
  10. uhm.... can i just say this FAQ list is AWESOME! Thanks Dirk that was about the most concise and helpful run down I could of hoped for (especially the pictures). And that also explains why my panel had a trace of silver showing through on the face. Man those 67's panels were beauties weren't they? -rd
  11. so this is what I am gleaning from the FAQ archives... does this sound correct to the rest of you... Also, do any of you know what years had silver face panels vs the black face? 67: Silver surround & bezels, no brake failure light or test button?, silver dollar gauges, 2 upper screws attach panel to dash 68-71 US: Silver surround & bezels, Silver face? Brake failure light & test button, silver dollar gauges, 2 upper screws attach panel to dash. 68-71 Euro: No brake failure light or test button, Black face?, silver dollar gauges 72-73: Black face? brake failure light. 74-76: Wood Gain, cross hair gauges
  12. sorry mine is a screw on, not the kind you need...

  14. Actually... Jack is the king of "low profile stereo stealth." You ougta share a pic of your trap door console system... keep us informed of what you come up with on the wiring. robert
  15. Wondering if I could get a run down on a history of what "early" instrument clusters were supposed to look like. I salvaged one out of a 68 that had silver dollar gauges but Im curious what the cluster case itself was supposed to look like as I am trying to clean it up as close to its original as possible. The cluster face looks like it had been painted black, the edge appears to have been a silver color and the gauge rings are currently white plastic but looked as though they were supposed to have been a silver color. any pics would be helpful. I saw a pic out of randy's amazing 67' 1600 and was totally impressed by the silvery face and chrome gauge rings but noticed mine is different w its red indicator light to the left of the speedo. thanks -rd
  16. i think i have one for you, let me look... rd
  17. wow that dash is crazy. did you recover it? or is it painted? nice car!
  18. hey so i've seen a lot of pro and con on the LED issue on the site (mostly about the unidirectional impact vs lighting up the entire lense) but I encountered a different problem. I replaced my rear running lights with a set of red LEDs from Schucks and really liked the effect however a day later i had ghosts in the electrical. The left running light acted like a turn signal, the left front turn signal stopped and I got the dreaded "one-blink B" on the dash. I am assuming this is from the drop in current and that I need to look into a resistor but has anyone encountered this problem? I would eventually like to utilize LEDs in the rear running and brake lights and front the blinkers especially in that they now make omnidirectional LEDs to light up up your reflector thus your entire lense. - thanks rd
  19. yep apparently a bit ballsy on the cluster... if it helps any im a newbie and seen some previous clusters go pretty high on this list. But it was a bit of a stab in the dark. If it sells the cash does goes to preserving my cancer car. If it doesn't I'll repost again more reasonably. I have gotten few leads on an original tach that I might help if i repost. this list is awesome btw, i've really enjoyed meeting many of you over email and locally here in seattle. i appreciate the smack down even it stings a little : ) Hey Esty I just emailed you on your carpets, would love to purchase the dk blue one. - rd

  21. i might have those grills for you. mine are off a 68' and they are all chrome. im getting ready to ebay them cause its a bit of fundraiser for me to paint my 76 but if its what you need let me know and make an offer - robert at yahoo dot com
  22. She got rescued. I put in a few bids myself but wasn't in a position to bid high enough. The guy next to me paid $825 and I think he got a hell of a deal. Some exterior rust but not too bad throughout. Appeared to be original paint. The interior was almost perfect except for one small dash crack and one chip in the drivers seat the rest of the tobacco brown upholstery and panels were beautiful. Just after the sale closed the tow driver came up to me and the new owner and told us he towed the car from the original owner who kept it in the garage for most of its life then eventually gave it up as a donation. Sure enough the original manual and handbook was in the glove box.... damn!
