    Just an update to this... I have one local person interested. he gets priority. About 5-6 people contacted me about shipping it. if the local person does not buy it, i will go down the list in the order in which I was contacted. Nothing will happen for a few more days though. my wife is a week away from her due date with our baby boy and the Dr checked her into the hospital due to high blood pressure. we have been here for a few days now, everything is fine, but the rest of our world is on hold until the baby comes. -Josh

    Time to clear this off the shelf. I have been holding onto it as a spare for about 3 years now. I bought it from another FAQ member who told me he had it rebuilt and put about 7000 miles on it. So I was told. The front timing cover has an 84 casting number on it. The block has a 76. I can assume they were machined to match but I can't confirm. Location: culver city, CA

    I have a brand new, in the box, Megasquirt 3 ECU and Solder Cup connector. I've got driver's quality trim pieces: 2 pieces of Passenger side rear quarter aluminum trim 1 piece of Driver's side rear quarter trim 1 passenger door piece of trim B Pillar pieces of trim. Under window trim pieces See photo for random spring pads, alternator bracket and other bits. Make me an offer and it's yours. I have one 73 style tii front bumper over rider. I am pretty sure it is for the left side. How's $20 sound? I have one rear chrome bumper over rider. I think it is the left side as well. $20 sound good? I have a complete set of arm rests although one doesn't match - $20 for all of them. They can be painted with SEM spray to match any interior. Door internal components - I got lots of bits and pieces. Let me know what you need or make me an offer on all of it. headlight buckets.     This is a restoration project that i am going to let go of. It has been on the shelf for 2 years now and we are moving... so time to clear out parts. I have a complete, used cluster and a second housing with glass and trim rings. I sprayed some of the bezel rings in primer, and the empty instrument housing is a very clean black - but that is as far as I got. I'd love to get $100 for everything.

    Girling Volvo big brake kit pistons. I removed them before returning the cores. They look A-OK. $20 for them all. Driver's window. $30. Driver's side vent window aluminum frame - good shape but not show car quality - $25 A pair of good headlight buckets from a 1972 2002 - $40 for the set. I have GE headlights - $5 each A stock air filter cover - FREE if you buy something else. Stock US turn signal. $15. Willing to trade for a locking gascap in good condition.

    I'm not going to sugar coat it. These need some TLC to be presentable again. Probably OK for a lower end daily driver. Please look at the photos carefully. Gasket is there but dry. it will work though. They have the nice brackets with the running light and turn signal light though. $50 shipped. Or make me an offer. I'll trade for a decent locking gascap with keys.

    Mercury / AIS insures my 02 along with my wife's car (Audi) and my TDI VW. They are very affordable. I have full coverage on the 2002 (which came in handy after 2 accidents deemed NOT my fault).

    It was Summit Automotive in Venice, CA. I have done a few years worth of business over there. I am of the same opinion. It is a shame that a part that would cost the shop owner $30 or so may be something that could prevent me from taking my car back to him, thus spending much more money there. He could have at least offered to split the cost of a replacement with me or something. He also offered to buy a dead steering box from me for $30 and he only took $20 off my bill to pay for it. It is hard to find decent shops in Los Angeles who will even touch a 2002. I thought Summit was better then that but I left the shop scratching my head... feeling like I got 'taken for a ride'.

    Well, i just got my second used steering box in the mail and just like the first, it is useless. I'm 0 for 2 on buying used steering boxes so I bit the bullet and spent $350 rebuilt box from 2002 AD. Hopefully there won't be any issues. As a result, i have one core i can spare right now if anybody wants to pay a wee-bit for it and cover shipping. I already sold the other core to my local mechanic. I'll have a 3rd core once I swap the rebuild box with my old one. -josh
