  1. Thanks gentlemen - appreciate all the background and coaching.
  2. Hi Nick! I'm not familiar with that vendor, any good?
  3. Good morning / evening, thanks for the response. That is their site, so looks like OK to order. Any other bits they do better than others that I could add in to the order? Thanks!

  6. Well, time to get serious I suppose. First order of business is a clutch that works properly with the 5 speed gearbox I sourced.
  7. Hi - thanks for the note. Anything good happening here is only because of the support and encouragement of the community. Everyone here has been just great-very much appreciated!
  8. It seems we have a consensus! Thanks (and good morning)
  9. Hi - was also thinking about 9.5. Seems like with stock pump and pump gas that is a good place to be. Sound like you are happy with that decision
  10. Hi Nick, hope you've had a good week. Good carch, that will also go on the to do list. Thanks.
  11. Good morning! Good tip-I will put that on the to do list. Thanks.
  12. Hola. Hope everyone is having a good week. I am planning on pulling and getting the brake booster refreshed, and all the soft lines will be replaced if course, but anything on the firewall area jump out at you as needing to be done. My goal is a reliable and presentable driver. Thanks!
  13. I've seen both in pictures of the very nice work that you guys do, just wondering which one is correct. Thanks
  14. thank you Steve, hope you have a good weekendI am quite sure I will give you all plenty of things to take me to task over, so I better not let this easily handled one add to that list! Thank you Steve!
  15. Good morning - hope everyone had a good week. While my engine is being rebuilt I am trying to clean and get all the various bits back to factory-ish looking presentation. Everyone was very helpful on the cast aluminum discussion, thank you. I know the exhaust heat shield is a satin black, but what color should the various non-aluminum bits be? Block is black, but how about any metal hardlines? Silver?
  16. Thanks gentlemen, appreciate all the input. “Just” Lookimg for tidy and easier to keep clean than raw aluminum.
  17. I know this is somewhat akin to asking what the best motor oil, spark plugs, tire is etc but I've seen lots of discussions here on this topic but I am curious how the paint and clearcoat has held up for those that went down that path. After several years and hopefully lots of motoring, how are how is the engine aluminum colored paint held up? Easier to keep clean than natural, unpainted, aluminum? Thanks!
  18. Good morning gentlemen-just a quick update that I dropped the engine off for a full rebuild just now. I am going to get a slightly warmed up and more durable engine back as an assembled long block in about six weeks. Pretty exciting to have this underway, an it is the direct result of everybody's help and coaching here so thank you!
  19. That is the goal, having an engine that runs I'm thinking will be useful to that end
