  1. I have a driveshaft that was shortened and balanced...for a 320. Im sure it will have to be re-shortened to fit the 02. As for the 4 speed platform, I have 2 of these but no hardware that will mate it to the trans mounting holes. I tried to see how it would mount and I cant figure it out as the mounting holes dont clear the trans mounting points. Does anyone have pictures of a 265 with all its mounting hardware and brackets in place getting ready to be installed in the 2002? Part numbers of all mounting hardware are extremely welcome.
  2. It is the trans from the M3 and has the M3 bellhousing so it will bolt to the M10 block. Just need more info on the items listed above.
  3. Ill be installing one, mated to my M10B20 and have a few questions regarding shift platform and placement of the shifter in the tunnel. THe trans that I purchased, doesnt have the M3 shift platform or any of its mounting hardware. That being said, which one is needed for the trans to be used in the 02? the E21 5 spd shift plate or the S14 shift plate? Any modification required to the shift plate, whichever one it may be? I know the trans tunnel will have to be modified, the DS needs to be shortened, and the mechanical speedo will have to be swapped over to the 265, Ill be following this http://hem.passagen.se/m2002tii/tech/tips/speedo_on_tranny/ to do that. Other than that, what concerns should I have? Any pointers are very much welcome.
  4. Progress is awesome! What tools and product are you using to strip the paint? Ill be at that stage after I pull the glass from the car.
  5. Are you willing to ship this 3.64? What is the condition, mileage? Any noises? Can you send pictures to dane_kavanaughatyahoo.com Looking forward to hear from you.
  6. That is expensive just for the pressure plate. I would like to get a complete kit for just a bit more than that. so, Im assuming the S14 used a 228mm flywheel?
  7. Ok, so now that we've covered that, can we discuss a picture of the shift platform and its mounting hardware? THe one that came with the S14 trans, doesnt seem like its the right one. Granted I dont have any of the mounting bolts and stuff. Any pointers for a parts list AND installed platform pictures (of where it mounts to the trans)?
  8. Thanks for the tips. Im sure I can find a good condition 3.91 lsd fairly "local"
  9. The turbo is a hx35 from a cummins, and it will boost from ~3500 to redline. The limit I posted (7000rpm) won't be seen that often, more of a personal rev limit for spirited shifting, which the turbo will be more than adequate. That being said, what would you recommend, for diff ratio? Thanks on the clutch info!
  10. Yes and yes. Not sure the relavance of the OD ratio of the trans, wont rev past 6800-7000, TQ I believe Ive listed in the first post but I will say ~260 to the wheels, might run 225/50/15 but for starters it will be 205's. Not sure on the color yet, might be a factory BMW color, not sure what model and year though. Being boosted, I dont see the 4.10 being a smart choice, + its not in a M3. Not going for max speed here. Looking for a dif that wont be a dog from a dig or redline at 100. I agree but I figured I would get my parts list SOMEWHAT complete, and the diff is something that I need to figure out. Thanks, So the stock M3 flywheel will bolt up to the 2002's M10? What is the diameter of the M3 flywheel? Then the Spec Stage II+ ~should~ suffice? My question in this area was pointing towards the crowd to find out if there was a better alternative than the Spec clutch...
  11. US spec. Thanks. I really need to see the hardware and mounting configuration
  12. Thanks for the info. I was considering a 3.64 when I posted this topic but wasnt sure if a taller gear would be better. From my calculations, I should hit almost full boost at 3500-3800 rpm's. Also, does anyone have a picture or a parts list with part numbers for the shifter platform and its associated parts (how it mounts to the trans)? Im not sure how it mounts...
  13. I'll be doing this trans install too, but mated to the M10b20. Any ideas on how that will go over? Any insight on what to look out for? I would think it would be pretty simple to "scalp" the tunnel then add metal to both sides to raise the tunnel up. As for width, I'm not sure.
  14. First, I know I'll need to modify the tunnel, not that big of a deal but still time consuming. My question lies with the diff that I should match to this, and what clutch kit will work. My goal is ~300 hp and close to 260 tq, weekend track car that wil be driven on the hwy as well. I know the M3 came with a 4.10 diff but it's not turbo so I wont need that high of ratio. I'm just not sure if the 3.91 will be too high. Should I look at a 3.64 LSD or even lower. As for clutch kit, I want it to be comfy but with lots of clamp force, so I was looking at the spec II+. It can hold like 320 tq. Should I look elsewhere for a clutch kit? Also can someone provide me with a picture of an assembled trans with the platform and support bar? I don't think the trans came with the appropriate shift platform/plate. Thanks everyone, in advance!!
  15. Thanks for the info, can you post pics of the rear of the trans? I don't have Any to compare to but it may jog my memory form when I viewed it. It's a 3 bolt flange if that determines anything
  16. Anyone have anything for me? The owner of this trans received it in a kit for a e21 s14 swap. By looking at it, I can't tell Whether it's a cr dogleg or an OD trans.
  17. There are the numbers on the tranny: 262.0.0510.90 225 2.3 it's a 3 piece with no shifter mechanism, just the selector rod. I need to know if this will fit a M10 block? Thanks in advance

  19. Ha! Clever. Thanks! Was getting worried that is was built in a secret country
  20. There is a flag next to the car description onc I click on the VIN, what is that for? It's a flag I'm unfamiliar with: orange vertical stripe then red, white, red horizontal. 'splain it to me please
  21. Im really interested in the center grill if it hasn't been sold yet. Arethe slats damaged in any way? Email me Dane_kavanaugh at yahoo. Com what's your asking price?
  22. Thank you all, I've gotten them off. The adjuster bolts weren't seized but they were tough. After I "beat it" for a while they finally came off. The passanger was a lot easier than the driver side. I used some penetrating oil and that probably made things a lot easier for me. Since I'm not reusing the drums I cut the spring holding the two together and somehow managed to get the cable free from the bottom without completely destroying the drum pads. Now I just gotta convince the wife to spend some bucks on lee's brakes, front and rear. Too bad the cost of the brakes will take a big chunk of my budget. Gotta pay to play tho, right?
  23. I was afraid of that!!! what size socket to get the drum nut off? 34mm?
  24. How do I disconnect the Ebrake cable from the drums in order to completely remove subframe? Ive cut the soft brake lines that go thru the trailing arm but cannot find a disconnect point for the e-brake Illustrations or feedback very much welcome/appreciated
