  1. I threw this thread out a month and a half ago right after I joined. The '93-'95 rx7 twin turbo is a twin rotor 1.3l that is very compact and does 255 bhp stock. They are very small and very light. I have seen them dropped into spitfire's with AMAZING results. The are also plentiful at junkyards, actually I think you can get a whole running car in the 2k range. When I originally posed this thread someone replied that they had met a guy that was racing an o2 with a rotary set-up and it was a fire breathing beast. Maybe you could save some $$$ and get 255 to the flywheel to boot. I am willing to bet that you could get it breathing better and chip it and get 280-290 no sweat. Just a thought. JB

I am in for a set of the gray ones. I am close and will come pick them up. I will also drive the $$$ up any time you need. I would really like to meet you and get a first hand look at your ride. Unfortunately I am having trouble smogging the Malaga so it is illegal right now and I can't bring it. Happy Holidays JB
  3. Lots of PB blaster, take a good rattle gun and just hold it on there. It may take as long as a minute but it should come loose. All of mine have, but my gun is rated at 500+ ft/lb in reverse. Good Luck and Happy Holidays JB
  4. Tj, A porsche 959 has a hp/weight ratio of 6.6. If the racer got his car down to 1750# and was pushing 275 bhp his ratio would be 6.3. Happy Holidays and stay safe JB
  5. You can download everything from the Pierce manifolds link given above just go to the weber tech spec section and get the lean best idle PDF. It is exactly the same as what you will find in the manual and they have the exploded view of every weber out there. Happy holidays JB P.S. You may also want to got to the FAQ section and get CD's 32/36 prescription. It works.
  6. e-mail is: info.konzernarchiv@bmw.de I just got an answer about my '75. Turns out that she turned 32 yesterday. The website is: www.historicalarchive.bmw.com Happy Holidays JB
  7. I am glad that you are safe. It looks like your German steel held up a little better that the recycled bud cans that the Tacoma is made of. Sorry for your loss. JB
  8. We were screwing around at work today googling different cars and came up with this: If you are running 200 bhp you are in the same hp-to-weight ratio as a Lotus Elise. 225 and you are in the Viper/Vette/Carrera neighborhood. Cheers JB
  9. Thanks Curt, I was just curious, it semmed to me that 15's with 50's would be more like 15%, and by powerband I simply meant the rpm range where you got the best results. JB
  10. Have any of you guy's or gal's running oversized wheels entered your measurements into a diff. calculator to see how much your powerband has changed? I know in the 4x4 world when you oversize your wheels and tires that not only does your speedo change but your milage and powerband change. I realize that the difference between 28" and 33" tires is going to be a lot more shocking than the difference between 13" and 15" wheels and that the overall outer diameter is the most important number, but it seems to me that if you are running bigger meats you should need to check your gearing. For a kings ransom Korman will build you any ratio you want and I think that might be something that some of you dubbers might want to explore. It is entirely possible that you folks have bhp/mpg lost in your gearing. Ever put 13's on an old bug, you can't get them to hook up because the powerband has changed so much. Just something that dawned on me while I was driving tonight. Let me know what you come up with. Happy Holidays and all of you o2'ers out there please stay safe. JB
  11. Last night, squarie with E30 bottle caps. Around Shoreline Blvd. I was the kook in the blue and white truck giving thumbs. Anyone. JB
  12. Tj. Jeep cherokees have at least 10 behind all of the panel switches. Every pick and pull I have ever been to has at least 10 jeep cherokees. Best of luck JB
  13. Thanks CJ I like the way you roll, And your o2 is breathtaking. JB
  14. They are a #74 lamp and used ina multitude of makes and models and readily available at auto parts stores for about a buck a piece. Cheers JB
  15. It does make sense, I do not remember any holes in the hardware but I will definitely check when I get home. I know that my friend that races D sports puts safety wire and even springs (so that even if it does come off it does not leave the car) on everything. As I said above I am not in love with the hardware that came with the joints and am going to swap it out with high grade stuff and jam nuts, might as well install some holes for wire at the same time. Thanks JB
  16. Safety wire goes up top between the steering arm and the strut tube does it not. Please advise Happy Holidays and stay safe JB
  17. Thanks, but NO. I saw the kit somewhere for $1500.00. Too ricey/low rider/tuner for me, I just like the clean lines of flush mounts. This whole thread may become moot, we are also toying with fiberglass doors. Happy Summer Holidays to you. JB P.S. Karl looks great, how is the engine coming.
  18. Yeah, tin-knockers. I am an electrician they call me sparky, and of course we all call the plumbers turd-herders. How about that visual. Cheers JB
  19. The moogs were from a local source $19.00 and made in germany according to the box. Moog is a well respected suspension parts supplier. My Haynes manual called out 32 ft./lbs. and I am considering some different bolts like maybe some nice metric 10.9's with fine threads and jam nuts, a little shorter too I think the ones that came with the parts are a little long. JB
  20. I have a buddy who is a tin-knocker (HVAC sheetmetal guy) he kicked down 4 rolls of seam sealer and said he can give me a case as it is expendables in his trade. So if you know any tin-knockers hit them up. JB
  21. This car will in no way be for purists, it is going to be hot street / auto x, roll cage rear seat eliminated etc.. So bring em on. JB
  22. Yes, I drilled out the old rivets and the Moog joints came with all the hardware. Good Luck JB
  23. Finally some forward motion. I finished the control arms tonight, they are epoxied, new Moog ball joints and Ireland urethane. With a little help from the canine garage assistant. I spent about 30 minutes with the heat gun / propane torch method on the pan and wound up with this. 20 minutes with a painters 6-in-1 tool and a dead-blow hammer got me this. 30 minutes on the drivers side with the hammer/tool. It was a cool California day (50-60 degrees) and it seemed like the cooler it was the easier it went. Even a 5 degree change was noticable. As for the steering box. The gears look great. I am a little worried about the rings from the seals, I am going to try a little emory cloth action. They are pretty shiny but I cannot feel or measure any real void. I will update as soon as I have more. Right now I am off to find new hardware for the front suspension so that maybe mine will look 1/10th as good as Bill Williams incredible project. Happy Holidays and Stay Safe. JB
