  1. I don't know if he goes by CJ but his name is Chris. Nice guy, nice Black 74 with Rally Lights which he was kind enough to let me take for a quick spin around the block. That alone F'ing made my day.... thanks Chris, good luck with E.D.
  2. I'm sad. Very Very sad. So his name is Chris and he took my 02 on Saturday. Aparently he's on this site but I don't know his sn. He's going to try and restore it and only part it out if its too far gone. I think it's going to be restored myself. The car wasn't that bad off. Though he does have one hell of an initial cleaning project ahead of him. Yay mice! I'll get another one someday. Til then, I'm bimmerless..... Devian
  3. Just to let you guys know, when I parked it I did so because I couldn't afford to properly maintain it and decided it best to park it than drive it into the ground. I was driving the thing on a regular basis at 100mph before this happened. The car had no problem. Compression at last I checked was 149, 150, 151, 153. The engine has some life left in it yet. Someone please take this car. I got e-mails from two different junk yards already. It would break my heart to let either one of them have my first car.
  4. Hey guys. So I have to get rid of it. It was runinng when I parked it but now I no longer have free storage and have to find a home for it. I'd much rather it go to another 02 guy. Its in Fremont, CA. Not currently running (though it probably would if you coaxed it). 4 speed, BBS. May or may not be worth restoring but would definately be a good parts car. I just don't want it to go to a junk yard and be crushed because nobody cared. IT WAS MY FIRST CAR FROM WHEN I WAS 15!! SOMEONE PLEASE RESTORE IT OR USE IT TO RESTORE ANOTHER!! dcmcevoy@gmail.com
  5. How much HP are you putting in that thing to need such comically wide tires? Damn! I'm impressed.
  6. You somehow remind me of Fred Flintstone in that pic...
  7. 1st note. 2" is a lot. Think more of 1 to 1.5. Second. Lowering your car is EASY!! Start by buying 4 anvils. put two in the trunk, and two on the floor of the passenger side floor. Measure how much your car has been lowered and add or subtract anvils accordingly..... You're welcome...
  8. So I'm going to try and get another car in the next couple months. My 02 need not be on the road for some time... If one were to buy an E-30 M3 in good condition, how much should one be prepared to spend?
  9. Just thought I'd throw this out there.... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/car/199302908.html
  10. I put too much oil in my 02 at one point and it was fine so long as I behaved myself (this happens seldomly). Whenever I went above 4500rpm's for any length of time I had this really thick Spy Hunter esque smoke screen behind me... I thought it was pretty cool actually but I did have to do something about it because it can cause issues if you run your car like that for too long.
  11. Yeah, the car's been rear ended (90s Mustang got screwed) so there's a bit of buckling on the rear fenders. Your's looks good and pretty much exactly what I had in mind. Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it? Cost? I'm trying to get an idea because I want my car out of the graveyard its been in for five years by Oct...
  12. So one of the things I want to do is flare the fenders on my 73 2002. Kinda like and E-30 M3. How dificult is this?
  13. So how realistic do you guys think it is to take the car above from its presant state to top of the line looks and great performance without breaking 15k?
  14. No offense taken. Just trying to fix my the thing... Its name is E.D. by the way. My friends named it. Its an acronym for Evil Death...
  15. I've owned the car for 15 years. It was my first car and I'm very knowledgeable as to how the car should behave. I just want more power and better handling with the same characteristics. Basically, there is no way I'm putting a 350 small block in the car because it would handle like crap. I'm thinking of the E-30 M3 (S14?) engine for instance. I have a lot of time driving my car at high speeds on windy roads. I don't want to ruin the experience.
  16. OK, so let me get a little more specific. I want to give the car as much HP and top end speed withouth ruining the handling characteristics or having to mess with the frame too much. I want it to remain a 2002. What engine would you recomend, transmission, rear end? Aproximate costs would be welcome too. Just to let you know, I don't know what half the engines are that are listed on this site are.
  17. So this is an old car and mine is totalled. My interest in the one I have is its vin # and now I'm not sure I wont just use it for parts on another but here's my question. How far do you think an 02 can realistically be pushed in terms of HP, top speed, handling ect? I don't want to spend 20k if the car can't handle it.
