Anyone know if this stuff was moved to the 'warehouse' and is still for sale? Sounds like lots didn't sell.

Hows the old beast doing @ScenicVermont? I miss that car! Where in Wsea are you? Both my sisters siblings live over there, I always hope to catch a glimpse of it whenever i'm over there.

This thread needs a good lesson in HP , or rather how it is calculated.
HP = Torque x RPM / 5252
Now, torque is generally a function or displacement (in non-turbo bars), therefore the only thing you have real control over is RPM in this equation which then results in how much money you can spend. Spin at 9000rpm vs 6500rpm and it's clear the effect on HP.
Hope that helps your thoughts, to spin fast, you need LIGHT strong parts......or parts that don't last long =)

Dude, fix it up and drive or sell it. Way too nice to part out, 320is like this are finally getting appreciated.
If I had a spot available i'd be all over this!
Post in the cars for sale thread BTW....

Damn, regretting every day of it!
Did the car stay in State? In Seattle area?
Send me any questions you have, we'll see if I remember!

Looks like the guy that bought from me 1.5 years ago sold it off to whoever this was selling it. Mileage was not stated correct (I contacted them about it and they never replied). It was 177K+ miles, turned over of course.
I should have held out for more $ when I sold ($6300), but had a 535is I was trying to buy for more family duty. I had owned this 2002 for 16 years, did all the 'upgrades' to it etc etc. Ended up selling it back to the buy I had bought it from......was 'buying as a project for him and his 16 year old son' , as my Dad had done for me 16 years prior (though it wasn't a project per se).
Rust is why I sold it at what I did......had it on local CL at the time for $7500 and went down from there as interested parties passed it up.
Good luck to whoever bought it, curious what happened to the car and buyer from me as it sounds like this seller purchased at Auction.

Is BMW really the featured marque next year? I was trying to look this up on Sunday (apparently its announced after the races are over?)
Trying to make plans to drive my 535is down with my (then) 4yo son and my Dad (sold my 02 in February to support Family expansion etc)

I need an E30 318i fuel rail, contact me with info and price
Thanks,
Bryan

Bought one, sweet!
Now I just need a 318i fuel rail so I can modify the manifold / get things ready without tearing apart my current set-up
-
What intake version? Older tii style with curved runners, or 318i style?
-
I think an 80' has the wrong manifold (the one I already have, i'm looking for the tii style), and I already have a working engine.
Thanks,
-
I want to make my megasquirt car look more period correct and put the 320i early manifold on it. Let me know if you have one for sale.
Thanks,
Bryan

I want to change my 318i intake (megasquirted) to the 320i (tii style) intake for the looks......there has been VERY little 320i's up here in Washington as of late and i'm getting impatient.
There are a few in the yards in Cali right now it looks like, so maybe if someone is near one of these yards and wants to pull the manifold/runners/fuel rail etc for me, i'd be willing to pay.
These yards currently have the right year 320i's:
Pick-n-Pull - Chico Pick-n-Pull - Rancho Cordova (Main Store) Pick-n-Pull - Fresno
Anyway, probably a long shot, just seeing =)
Message me if you are interested and we can work something out.
Thanks,
Bryan

Mike, where would this "backwards wiring" be, at the turn indicator stalk? Or? Is the flasher relay the roundish relay with about 6 connections under it? That it?
Also, by grounding at the mount screws, you mean what holds the actual turn signal to the body right?
Thanks.

I'm trying to troubleshoot I have with my front blinkers. Here is the situation:
Headlights off: Both front blinkers work fine
Headlights on (or just running lights): Driver side running light does not come on, but blinker works
Passenger side running light comes on (bright, like it's the blinker fillament) and the blinker does not.
So.........just trying to figure out where to start and what to look for. The rears are fine the whole time.
Thanks,
Bryan

Thanks for the tips, I got the car to make the sound (needs to be running / driving for about 20 min before it starts making it) and then went home and pulled the vac line and capped it, still made the sound. So, now I am stumped and looking for ideas.......Unless it is coming from the throttle body itself (though I fixed the assumed gasket issue), i'm stuck with either where the manifold meets the head.......or some other spot that could be causing it. Trouble is I can't pinpoint the sounds location that well.........just from the engine, everything is too loud to really tell.
Thanks,
Bryan

Hmm, looked some more and looks like people just route it straight on.......guess i'll have to try harder
-
SO, I have a megasquirted 02 with the 318i manifold and I am chasing a really annoying vacuum leak. I've done some stuff with the throttle body thinking it was that......but test drove yesterday and proved it wasn't that. SO, since it improved, I'm thinking it is coming from the brake booster vacuum line since that is one of the 2 things I took apart/off in the process.
I need some pictures or ideas on how to do this, my nipple comes straight up off the booster, which is under the manifold, so I have a couple of brass elbows in line which adds up the potential places for leaks........so, how are you getting you vacuum line over the manifold and onto the booster without doing this?
Thanks,
Bryan

This is a Recaro seat slider for a BMW 2002, 1600, 1602, 2002ti, 2002tii. The slider has aluminum mounted to it in the mount holes which had a racing seat bolted to it. I am not sure what seat is intended to bolt to it, but it is a Recaro made slider with a sticker for the previously stated BMW's listed on it. This is used, has some slight surface rust in areas but is in good working condition.

Not any help, but you'll find amusing. I was trying to work on my front signals...one parking light doesn't come on, the other doesn't blink when the headlights are on....weird situation.
Anyway, so I messed around under the steering column investigating and did some stuff, left the under cover off. On the way to a car show, I was backing out of the driveway with my dad waiting in his E30....I heard a quick double honk and was like huh, so I yelled out the window to him, that you? He points at me. DOH! without that cover on, the horn ring thing grounded on the metal while I was turning and honked. Ok, well i'll just watch it on the way to the show I thought. Well we are driving (it was maybe 8 miles away) and we are going down the road, me in front, all of a sudden it starts honking a bunch, my dad said the car passing me by honked back hahaha, then maybe 30 seconds later as i'm coming up on some bikers, it starts again and then starts laying on it, not stopping. So the lady on the bike looks up and starts to look like she is going to wave to me thinking oh do I know him. Fun times....after that I pulled over and got the cover back on =)
Only the 2nd time in my 14 years of ownership I have ever heard the horn =)

Colin, it would be weird for a Duratec in a 02', but the cost benefit is all there. For years to come, you will have spare engines at your disposal for $300 all day long (and prob cheaper)....that you can't argue with. That and the engines are pretty dang good (i've got 150K miles on a 2.3L in my DD).
If you can fab, then do it, pretty easy really, chop grind weld, you know the drill. As for sump, I did a little work to the subframe on the Cortina and then chopped and welded up the wet sump.....we'll see how it works. Dry sump is REALLY expensive.....so not the route I want to go. If my butchered one doesn't work, then ill design something up and get it laser/water cut and welded.
ITB's are GSXR 750's that I made custom adapters for.....we'll see how they do.
Portland area: Need someone to check out a car
in BMW 2002 and other '02
Posted
Hello Portland 02'ers, I am looking at a potential car (non '02) and need someone who can potentially take a look for me and report back on condition. I have a limited number of pictures to go by, but am not 100% sure if there is rust hiding or other issues i'd like checked out.
If you think you can help out, IM me and we can chat offline. Thanks!!
(PS, I would have posted in the NW group but the start new topic tab wasn't present!)
