  1. E30 convertible rear seat (325i, 318i). Use to put in your 02 with some work. I went another route but test fit it (without doing the mods to make it fit better, cutting some of the back away) and it is very comfortable and looks great. These look VERY similar to the E30 M3 rear seat.....just the side pads aren't as big. From my test fit, side foam pats would have to be made to fit and be covered, but would look good in the end. Reupholstering needed.

$100, email if interested, located in Seattle area (Kirkland)

  2. Anyone else noticing the 02's available for sale seem to be less? Maybe it's just not being able to look on sitemash (craigslist compiler), but I feel even as early as 2 years ago I could find at least 6-8 for sale locally (Seattle area), now its maybe 2 or 3 if you are lucky....

Are people holding on to them as prices go up, or the not so good ones chopped up....

I think I am losing the argument I had with my dad a few years about about the going rate for a good 02, my thought was there was too many still to hit what he though........but, even decent square light cars seem to be asking $10K.....

    Just seeing what others think

  3. I am looking for a decent rear seat, preferrably black or tan in the seattle area (can trave 45 mins or so in either direction). Not looking to spend a ton, just need a seat.......I have a baby to eventually put back there in a car seat now (to shows)!!

  4. Nice work!

My parents (Dad) bought me my 73' almost 14 years ago (in July) when I was 16. That car has influenced a lot in my life, inspired a lot of DIY projects, design, manufacturing all of that good stuff.

I hope he enjoys and loves it! I can't get rid of mine, and am having a son (due this week), so we will see if I can give it to him when he is 16.

  5. Really, all these years of having batteries die on me, alternator replacements, having to charge the car up to make sure I didn't end up stranded somewhere with a dead battery.

All those things saying "check your grounds etc etc"

I checked my ground (all those times).....it was grounded. Well, one day I was doing some electrical work and I decided to replace my alt ground because the wire to connector was falling apart......so, new wire, new connector, hooked it up and the car has held charge all winter, driven it a bunch......seems to charge just fine.....must have been the problem after all these years. How many years did I deal with the draining battery.....oh about 12....YEP.

I guess getting wiser with age is true....only took me 12 years to figure it out...

  6. I'm curious, how'd you wire them? Tap them in to the fuse block etc? I tried what I thought was correct a year ago..and kept blowing the fuse.....pissed me off, so I was stupid and pulled the fuse......and QUICKLY melted the wires!!! DOH!! I said "F" that and moved on....but would like some on at some point.

  7. Totally not what you are looking for in your post...but would you trade straight up for a set of black Sparco racing seats?

I have a set in my 02....but want to put Recaro's in, I have recaro's but the drivers side needs a major rebuild...passenger side is good though...but I don't have the cash to restore....or buy your seats =)

  8. Without answering ALL of your questions, I will say my car is running better and more reliable than when I took off the 38/38 and put on side drafts about 10 years ago now.....I have been on the MS for a year, and it is sweet. I probably don't even have it fully dialed in because I got to a point where I was really happy and then just wanted to drive!

There are ups and downs to both set-ups...but the MS doesn't have many downsides.....mainly doesn't sound as sweet....and ya, thats about it! Oh yah, and doesn't look as cool as DCOE's, so maybe try the 320i manifold route if you dare and get a better more period look (what I eventually want to do)

  9. This would be great, I have been missing the shows! I have also not gotten my car out to a group drive in a really long time, and would hope I could make it work despite a baby coming at the end of March.....BUT, it would be great.

A sweet extended drive that I did last fall (not in the 02) that would be a BLAST with a group of 02's in the fall....is up over Highway 20 to Winthrop, and then down back over hwy 2. Mountain views, twisties.....all of that, probably some of the best in washington!!
