    So if i were to part out my 71 what does anyone need. I have a whole complete car. Engine runs and drive train runs out well. Couple year old gas tank that still has factory coating on it and the bmw sticker.

    So i am wondering about selling my 71. I bought it 2 years ago with the intent to just get the glass back in and drive it. Well i got it running and then had title issues. So now it just sits. It smokes pretty bad when hot but i think the marvel this weekend will pretty much stop that. Other than that it pulls like a horse one of the best 02s i have driven. So with out any glass in it or interior or trim, have it just not on car and a gas tank that still has its mobile tradition sticker on it, how much do u all think the car is worth. It has a 76 motor that has been gone through at some time a brand new rebuilt weber conversion brand new fuel line and the fenders are solid, been replaced at some point. Only rust is the floor board to toe board where the heater box leaked.

    Thats what I was thinking now that Ireland engineering is selling custom sets of pistons i was wondering if I should run the 10.1. I have been building this motor in my head since I was 12 and I always wanted the 10.1 but I figured I would just run the 9.5 pistons. With my head and 9.5 do what deck heights do I have to worry about. Thanks Dylan.

    I have a 121ti head that has been fitted with what looks like a 300 cam and I will be running it on a 75 block with 9.5 to 1 pistons and 40 webers. So is this possible and could I run maybe even 10 to 1 pistons.

    Hey Andy I worked at touring car for a while a couple of years ago and we talked about some of the old 2002s that Dan has worked on. Has he worked on any of yours. Oh and I would suggest that you go to him for any work that may be need on yours. He also has a large stock of new and used parts also several parts cars. Good luck with it.

    No not new to 02's or auto work. Just when I read that that was the gap and then checked the old ones that someone had put in my new 02 and they were like .040 i was checking to make sure I had the right idea of where to put the new gaps. I have the blue manuals but having one 02 in Kansas at my college and one at home in South Carolina I seem to not be able to find that volume right now. Thank you both for the help.

    Hey I was changing my plugs and when i checked my Hanes manual they said the gap I should have is .024 but I wanted to make sure that was correct.

    did you guys see the rear window latches. He wanted like 38 dollars for a left one and the right one was 240 dollars. I mean yeah its Bmw factory parts but come on 240 for a window latch no thanks.

    One thing to try is to take the leads to the pump and with the key on start reversing them and then back the other direction. Do this for short bursts and see if maybe you just have some stuff gummed up in there. I have done this along with beating on the pump and been able to get them to work again.

    I will have to say that I love my simpson 260. We had to get it for my electricity class and it is awesome. Can see a lot of things that a digital just cant read.

    I was wondering if there was any way to make the board like some of my other boards that whenever a post is made in a topic that topic is brought to the top. It makes it easier to see what posts you have missed if you are on another computer or something happens and you resign in. I was just wondering. Thanks Dylan.

    Thanks CD. I pulled on the float last night and got it to work right so now I will set it to the correct measurement and try and tune it.

    I went out and took the top off. The needle look like it was stuck open. I fixed it put it back together and started the car. It worked right for about the first 5 seconds and then the vent and what ever the other hole is. I can look down it and see some sort of jet. I know a little about carburetors but I am totally stumped here. Oh I also tried to blow into the inlet and no air escaped. Thanks Dylan.

    I had been afraid that the float was leaking like that, so when i was cleaning everything in carb-dip I dipped the floats and they would not sink and would only float on one side. So I am hoping the floats are good. Thanks for all the help guys.
