Desmog - Cap off or leave open?

OK, '76 2002. Air pump was hanging by a single bolt on the bracket with both hoses simply disconnected and left hanging at the pump.

Swapped Thermal Reactor manifold for Tii manifold. Hose from TR manifold now disconnected at manifold.

Both hoses lead to some sort of emissions valve at the block/head under the intake manifold on the driver side (EGR?).

Question is - Can I simply remove these hoses from the unidentified valve and be done with it? Or do I need to cap off the valve (note that effectively, it has been left open for God knows how long already)?

TIA!

Cheers!

Take it all off and cap off the resulting hole in the intake manifold otherwise it will run like crap (if at all) the EGR is probably clogged shut so you aren't sucking raw air into the intake manifold now.

Tom at 02again has a really cool plate for blocking off the hole, use one of those or something similar and get all that smog crap out of there.
