Inards details with valve body apart. Info never found anywhere is the spring lenght and the valve shutter position/hole diameter.

Spring L=1.2 and its associated valve is the 1-2 shift valve. I believe the strenght of the spring determine the amount of presure to accomplish the shift, or the speed at where it occurs in regards to the throtle control valve.

On mine, either the control valve is wrong, the speed governor valve is stuck or the 1.2 spring is broken.

Tail end apart, in order, the output flange, the speedo drive gear (gray) and the speed governor.

The speed governor round valve that can be seen should move freely without any load or spring action.

Throtle control unit.

The piston on the right gets in as the throtle is beign pushed down, thus increasing the overall presure near the governor assembly, increasing the speed needed to make the transmission shift.

I am offering the elusive o-rings to fix the annoying leaks. Theses are not the exact replacement ones since metric square o-ring is nla (at least here localy). But they fit tight and correct, i have a set on my car and there isnt any leak anywhere.

The big one is for the oil dip stick and the small one is for the speedo drive gear.

I strongly suggest that you use anaerobic sealant on the dip stick one, and a lot of grease for the speedo drive unit so it will slide in smooth and wont cut-in with the sharp edges of the transmission casing.

5$ per kit, +s&h. It can be put into an envelope so s&h wont be high, like 1-2$.

PAYPAL or CASH, ONLY.

Send FULL adress details thru the e-mail button up above.

Thanks for the insights on the 02 automatic transmission.  We have a 1974 02 with an automatic transmission  that we race and are looking to upgrade the transmission. One of out drivers is missing his right arm so we need to stick with the auto trans but we're thinking there had to be a way to upgrade to a trans with a fourth gear so that we could reach a higher top.speed and get some more acceleration when we came out of the corners. (we are also looking at the Weber DCOE 50 carb for some added power). Has anyone ever run across, or know how one might accomplish, this type of modification?

Excuse my ignorance, but is there a fill hole? Or do you fill through the dipstick?

I realize this is an older post, and hence a likely an already answered question, but you fill through the dipstick tube.

How do you get that plastic thing out to replace the o-ring?

hi Pat, do you still have inventory of these o-rings? I would like a pair if so.
