Hope lots of you are planning to attend, I'd personally like all of you to that many of the vendors we all deal with on an almost daily basis (Ireland Eng., Maximillian, Blunt, La Jolla, BMP, Bavarian, Greenfield Imported) have been very generous giving us killer 02-related products, gift certificates, etc.

Seriously, we probably have $2000 worth of product and gift certs to give away, but you have to drive a 2002 there to be eligible!

Should be a great day there is not even a chance of rain in the forecast.

Its also a great opportunity to renew 02 acquaintances, introduce random heathens to our wonderful cars and of course also see "other" killer cars, you know, junkers like Bugatti's, Auto Union, stuff like that.

Looks like four of us from the Capital District (NY) will be caravaning down early Sunday morning; three '02's and an '80's euro sixer. Weather looks great so far. See you there.

There is nothing like an early morning, cold, dew on the windshield, and a lousy heater core. We will be rolling through the back roads of Northwest CT with a train of cool cars. Life is good,

Where should I look at staying just for Sat nite?

Wish me well with the last minute prep stuff.

you should get extra points for rolling over the state line with "unsorted issues"!!! Thats awesome that your coming! I did a quick search for hotels in the area http://www.hotel.info/Search.aspx?han=2632231&hs_landisoa3=USA&hs_circum=100&hs_clat=41.9273147583&hs_clong=-73.3846359253&hs_validate=2&lng=EN&hs_searchmode=3

Ive stayed at the Blackberry River Inn, nice place to crash for a night, a bit further North is Great BArrington MA. Classic NE town. Id vote for the Blackberry, great breaskfast too.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
