Hockey Pucks for steering coupler??

Has anybody tried to make a hockey puck into a steering coupler (AKA rag joint)

Last time I checked, hockey pucks were not reinforced as are the rag joints. Unless you are blessed with more pucks than you know what to do with, Urethane or the OEM are your best bets.

I do believe I have seen pucks pressed into service as body mounts between chassis and body, and employed as makeshift seating mounts. I cut one up to create supports for my non-stock radiator in an M30 02.

I suppose you could try to adapt one as a makeshift giubo, but I have my doubts as to balance and longevity - unless it bears signatures from someone named Gordy or Wayne or MikeS!

I actually heard that from people that did that on 510s back in the day. A hockey puck is piece of polyurethane, right? Drill some holes, stick some sleeves.... !

Hockey pucks are made of vulcanized rubber...

Well, rubber or not rubber, I ended up paying $45 for part + urgent shipping. So that disk of urethane ($20) will cost me about $80 at that end. He. makes me wonder.
