Anyone seen or done this in an '02 chassis? I've poked around the search function for a while and wasn't able to find anything on them. Current seats in the car are original, and pretty thouroughly thrashed to the point where they're basically springs with a few strips of vinyl.

I saw this picture of an Alpina 3.0 Cs, and was intrigued by the fixed back setup: http://www.finecars.cc/typo3temp/GB/fc196f5a97.jpg

The Corbeaus look "period" enough to fit in the car, which is why I'm wondering if anyone has seen how they sit, clearance and position wise. Obviously with fixed-back I know I'll lose most of my "back seat" usage.

Thoughts, too ricey/boy racerish?

C......

Nice thoughts here....I agree totally w/ a fixed back period correct racer look.but I think youll find find the C2 a bit too small in scale for the car( better for a 914).... the other appears very sports car/ british in real life....Ive seen them in an MGB

Consider the Clubman......it should work/look better IMO. Maybe a cloth/vinyl combo. And be aware Corbeau fabrics are not the best quality..and fade due to sun ezily.

Look at Classic car seats.com..I can save you a few bucks on it..but they are MUCH better seats...and waay more correct. I am involved w/ restoring a 2002 project for a customer......we will go w/ CCS.

The Sebring from CCS..

Joel, the Sebring seat was admittedly where I got the idea from. Poking around online, I've found the standard classics for about $229/side, which induces a little less testicle retraction than CCS's quotes. ;)

The "clubman" is a little too race for me, at least in this car. Yes, I admit it, I'm going for looks as well as performance. I feel like such a ricer. I've got the forzas in the e30, and they've held up pretty well for the past 3 years or so, so I'm not too worried.

The GTSII's are probably the direction I'll go if I decide to stick with a reclineable seat.

I actually need to contact Corbeau on that. Their site lists two different brackets for the 2002, based on weird year designations. It also lists the Tii & Turbo on different lines than the standard 02, I wasn't aware that there was any difference in seat hardware on those models, so who knows.

Joel, I don't think *any* aftermarket seat bracket fits an e30 without work I've had to fineagle Corbeau, Sparco, Momo, etc to get them in.

and they asked me to send them pictures of the car floor with no seats.

I did and they did not reply.

I do know that there are differences in 2002 seats. My 69 has the fore-aft adjustment under the front of the seat and it's part of the seat bracket system while the later cars have them on the side and it's part of the car.
