There are about 20 different options I can think of off the top of my head. A little more specificity is needed.

Period correct?

Bluetooth?

Using an iPod?

Huge bass?

Audiophile or do you just want to listen to NPR on your way to work?

Chastity: the most unnatural of sexual perversions.

It depends if you want to be historically accurate or not. My daughter wrecked her car, so I took an alpine head unit with an Ipod adapter and put it in the car. I already had speakers cut out in the parcel deck, so I upgraded them to 6x9 JL's.

Wasn't enough sound at higher speeds so I had two kick panel speakers installed (POLD MOMAs). It sounds great. The only thing that I miss is bass at high speeds. My next project will be to install a subwofer under the back seat with a separately powered amplifier.
