Kris,

I am starting an underbody redo, I saw your info (great work by the way). Do you mind a few questions about how to POR the bottom, the wheel wells, the rear and front subframes. my email is fsmurf2002@triad.rr.com. The car is apart and painted, I thought since it looks so good, I would work on the bottom before I put the engine and interior back in it. For example, do you have to take off that undercoating hard material on the bottom to put POR 15 on? thank you very much.

Ah, the joys of POR15 and the underbody. I do miss those days last winter :). It is worth the effort though. I would only remove loose undercoating, and use a soft wire brush for your drill to remove the moil before using a degreaser and metal prep as an etcher, and then POR15. Make sure there is no moil (mud or oil) on the underbody or the POR will not stick. And wear a respirator if you want to keep some brain cells.

gorgeous car and great thread!

I also just picked up a set of RM's for my '74, and was wondering what size tire you were running and if you had any rubbing issues with them. I was planning on going a little bit bigger and running a 205-50-15. You didn't need to run any spacers right?

Thanks for the compliments.

I run 195/50/15 with a 1/2 lip in the front (15x6.5), and 205/50/15 with a 1" lip on the rear (15x7). I run a thin spacer up front, and no rear spacer. With my H&R springs I had a slight rub on one side in the rear which I cured with a tiny bit of grinding.

Hey Kris

I hope that's not the best picture you have of your car finished.

If it is, let's get together in the spring and do a couple of better shots. :)

Looks great.

Photography, not my greatest skill, but I'll put a few more up...and yes, it would be cool to get together for a photo shoot

EDIT here are some pics

wow, thats gorgeous!

Did you run the front spacer for clearance to the strut, or just to fill out the fenders a little more?

Thanks.

I needed the front spacer for strut clearance.
