6 cyl. 5 speed

Hi all,can i use a 5 speed out of a 6cyl car behind the M10 in my 2000ti or are the bellhousings different ? Anything else i nedd if it can be done ?

Not only will it not bolt on to the rear of the engine, it will also not fit in the tunnel without cutting.

If you need a 5-speed, use one from an E21.

The box came out of an E21 but it was a 2.3L 6 cyl. Car is a 323i.

is it a dogleg gearbox? Is first below reverse? If so do you want to sell?

conversions - it's the only 5 speed gearbox (in either the C.R. dogleg or O.D. versions) that 1. bolts to the M20 baby six, 2. has a mechanical speedo drive, and 3. doesn't require major surgery on the trans tunnel.
