Dealer here in SD wanted 6 dollars per bolt... hardly cheap!

More leverage (torque), no new parts, no loctite. You can probably find a better use for the $, and it's just as easy to leave a new bolt too loose as an old bolt.

The fasteners asked about in the original post are the ones at the rear of the propshaft, where it connects to the diff pinion flange.

IIRC, these are special bolts with a single flat on the head, that fits tight against the driveshaft at the rear flange.
