passenger side headlight surround - deep

Hello, I'm looking for a passenger side deep headlight surround for a '72 similar to the pic below. Would prefer decent sheen though doesn't need to be mirror-like finish. Please let me know if you have a spare that you can part with.

best,

Mitch

Just the deep headlight surround that fits within the grill. Thanks!

So you are looking solely for the asymmetric filler ring, as pictured in the foreground of the photo below? I don’t have one for sale, I’m just trying to understand your request — as was @m-tuner.

Steve

Hi Steve,  I appreciate  your note and am sorry for the confusion.  In my own defense I thought I was being fairly specific especially with the pic I attached though perhaps I'm calling the thing that fits within the grill a headlight surround when it's known by something else? The '72 I bought recently was missing the piece shown below that fits within the passenger side grill.

thanks,

Mitch

Mitch,

And I, too, would call that portion of the grille a “headlight surround”. But… the headlight surround is actually part of an ‘02 grille, from the factory. Someone will need to cut one out of another grille — it’s certainly been done — and you’ll need to re-attach it to your grille — I’m certain that’s also been done. But whereas deep grilles are fairly plentiful — having been manufactured for 50 years — there aren’t stacks of headlight surrounds sitting around, already excised from their original grilles. An excised headlight surround is coming off a grille that has other serious flaws.

If you go to the original parts page and schematic, 51/11, you’ll see there are left and right side grills, Items 1 and 3, and that’s it. No separate surrounds.

Regards,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I appreciate the additional intel and parts reference. Indeed, everything I've read and know about grilles led me to believe that the headlight surround would need to be removed from a passenger grille and so I was hoping that someone might have a damaged grille that's just been gathering dust in their parts stash.

best,

Mitch
