Bearings can still be found if you know where to look.

We are all ears on the bearings.  I have one sick 245, one of unknown origin, and an rx8 transmission and adaptor plate chillin on the floor.

Thanks for all the input.  I have a good update!

 

I got under the car this afternoon one last time and took some wrenches and started rechecking the guibo, center bearing and the shifting plate.  I had previously not been able to access all the guibo bolts and found two that were loose.  Also the shifter bracket with the hex bolt was a little loose.  

 

Bottom line is that once I got the wheels back on and drove it the sound has disappeared.  So loose guibo or new fluid...my bet is on both, at least for now....we'll see after some driving if the sound comes back.
