Need help identifying a manual transmission

Need help identifying a manual transmission. Owner states it was a German import 1975 2002 Cabriolet. 
 

Pictures are posted below. Any help would be fantastic and much appreciated

Plain old four speed trans.

I think there is a date code inside where the starter attaches.  Perhaps this will help you identify the year and month of manufacture.

The month and year the housing was cast are visible inside the bellhousing, as circled in red on a cropped version of one of your photos (first photo below). The second photo below shows a transmission housing cast January 1970 (1 “nub”, out of a potential 12, surrounding “70”).
