i looked but couldnt find the sizes. But i feel like their site is hard to navigate so maybe looking in the wrong place 🤷🏻‍♂️

White looks 1/4” ID x 1/4” long, so https://www.mcmaster.com/6389K352

Black looks to be 6mm ID x 5mm long with 10mm OD. They only show 4mm and 6mm length, and only in off-white. Get a 6mm and shave a mm?

i think the 2nd ones might work but the the first i dont think will as it needs to 1/4” OD with  5/32” ID (i guess thats the diameter of a #8 screw) and 1/4” long.

thanks for showing me these though

Sorry I misread it.

Whether you can use a slightly different size depends on how it’s used in the window. What’s the critical dimension? Length? ID or OD? Whats not critical to it’s function can likely have a different dimension…

Given these are about the same size  - imperial v/s metric differences aside - does it seem odd one is under a buck and the other is over nine?

Correct me if I’m wrong but the white ones where the #8 screw is referenced are for the split pin that goes through the window glass support rail. So fitting the split pin (cotter) that’s the minimum ID I assume.

… that’s my take on the earlier posters image of the two types of plastic bushes. There were only three locations on the window I found the old bushes with #5 being one location.

As an aside, there is also a small plastic bush of a very similar nature on the rear quarter window as well.

Just been discussing this on our Aussie 02 forum and consensus was the originals for the black ones were in fact metal in order to prevent glass crush due to over tightening.

I wasn’t aware of this tbh as what dropped out of mine during disassembly were plastic type material.

Suggestion was capillary tube a la refrigeration supplies was the solution.
