It looks like it's supposed to get revs off the CAN bus, and... well...

 

But I don't know if the 123 can output revs as an analog or serial signal.

but maybe I missed it.

Hopefully the MSD Tach adapter is going to get me the RPM's. It seem to be an inductive unit that clamps over one of the coil primary(?) wires to get an RPM signal. It is mentioned specifically in the AEM literature.

Ok, if they know it works, cool. 

 

The pickup looks to be just a current- to- voltage transformer

That means the AEM has at least one frequency input.
