Take the resistor wire off the coil and out of the deal and see if it still breaks up. Run a little jumper from any 12v to the coil.

I see note that bothe coils measured 3.0 on low side curious what was high side reading?

Yup, all the guys on the 911 site have the same problem with crappy manufacturing.

it seems a brand new out of the box condenser can be bad.  i replaced the new condenser with another new one and the car runs perfect with the new coil.  dlacey suggested that it was a bad condenser and he was right on!  thanks for the help.
