E24 Rear Seat Conversion: Seat Belt Receiver Placement

Well I was test fitting these last night and I am running across a slight problem.  

 

It seems that given the location of the arm rest and where the receivers protrude through it, the base of both belt receivers want to share the same space; Instead of side by side, they want to overlap each other.

 

Is that how they are suppose to fit. if so which one (driver or passenger goes on the bottom) or do they need to be massage to make them fit side by side?

 

Any pics showing proper placement would greatly help.

Try switching them left to right or 180°. It won't look right or line up like they should mount on the side of the tunnel, because they aren't meant to mount on the side of the tunnel. In the e24 the receivers are bolted to a plate which is then bolted to the tunnel. It is not a drop in fit into the 02
