body and interior Door Handles - Wedge Fittings?

Was trying to attach the door handle mechanism last night and noticed that there are wedge fittings that go on the inside of the panel. What direction/position do they go (they have been off for like 5 years, so I can not recall).  Even a picture of it would be helpful.

Fit it up, and it's self- explanatory.

You rotate the wedge so that the bolt head has a flat surface

to press on, and the angled surface of the wedge matches the curve of the sheetmetal.

(I THINK the wide part of the wedge goes down, but I forget)

 

It's one of those things where the parts, out of context, are confusing,

but when you start putting it back together, it shows you how it wants to go.
