1980 320iS e21

Recommended Posts

I purchased a 1980 e21 320iS last week and it is getting shipped to Kormans this week. It had a hit behind the passenger dor but is still drivable. Silver in color.  It has all the bits you need  . Black interior, sport seats, LSD, 5 speed, 3 spoke leather steering wheel.  The car is getting painted and I decided to keep it stock.  Car purchased for 2k plus 875 shipping to NC.  PM me if interested in the whole thing.

Hope it gets saved and not parted. I am out of space and have an E28 M5 project or I'd take on the 320i.

Thanks, I bought one new back in 1983. Had some minor issues with it so I got rid of it.  Have a picture from 83 with my girlfriend sitting on the hood. Married that girl so when a similar car come around I had to have it. Strangely my wife doesn't get it buts it has been all good since the day I met her. I like the looks of the e21.

Slowly building a $20,000 $4000 car

If it "ran when parked" you wouldn't have parked it!

Love the E21 styling too, such an under rated BMW. Bought my Tii to relive our younger days in college when I had my first car a '73 '02, been married 25 years this year.

I have the 1983 320iS in original Henna. Unless it were sitting next to an Inka 2002 you would swear it was orange.

All original paint and body panels. Only mod is AC removed many years ago. Have had many E21's and Recaro's are so much nicer than traditional E21 seats. k jetronic best part of E21's. So why do I miss my 73 2002 ?......I used to have to pump the gas pedal  6-10 times to get it started and then let it idle or it was like a bucking bronco. E21's are beautiful cars but can never come close to the '02

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
