02 drive? 02 meetup?

Thanks bento for reviving this...   ...hopefully everyones' projects ARE coming along...   ...I'm currently in the midst of a triple-sidedraft-Weber conversion on my E9 (which trumped the '02 projects), but I'm not giving up...   ...still going to pull the late nights to hopefully get it going in time for the drive.  That said, what is everyone thinking for a route on 5/21?

Could work out, depending on if a couple folks reply to to their part-outs in the classifieds. I need to drop in a new starter & voltage regulator, otherwise I'm stranded at home.

If all goes at my pace, hopefully will be running by 5/21!

Bring the E9 if the 02 isn't ready. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would enjoy checking it out.

James may have a point with shooting for June; 3 existing events in May is already a lot to choose from, but I'd try to make it regardless.

How about a drive from Issaquah>Fall City>Carnation>Redmond>Maltby/Woodinville? There are some nice roads linking them together.

I've got a hall pass from the wife and  kids for both the Lemay and XXX Root Beer events. Is th there a specific sign up for the Lemay event? If so, where? The website?

Hope to see you guys there.

I'm still hopeful Patrick has my car ready by this weekend, but I'll wait to register until I have it back just in case.

Thanks Brent. All registered and ready to go.

I saw your car in progress when I went to pick up Kermit at Patrick's. Looking good. That EFI system is going to kick some butt. I've got to stop back in early next week to get my fuel pump replaced. Luckily it'll only take a day. Man, It never ends...

I talked to Patrick this evening. He's pushing hard to finish my car to make room for a car that he's reassembling after a respray.

The last parts arrived yesterday and it's basically down to wiring everything up. We'll see what happens but I'm hopeful I'll be driving it this weekend for tuning, and taking it home by this time next week.

The list is still long, but at least it'll still be worth very little when I'm done. :)

Can't wait to get it back, but I especially can't wait to get it back on the track on 5/20.

How's your car treating you? Is it drivable on the bad fuel pump? You had a lot done and I bet it feels like a different car.

Yeah, that blown head gasket was not an expected expense. But the car is running way better than before and the new suspension parts really made a huge difference. Finally feeling that "on rails" vibe that I expected when I first bought the car.

The fuel pump issue is an intermittent leak so it's still drivable. Just makes me nervous to do so. I bought a fire extinguisher just in case.

Next on the list is a rebuilt distributor, then IE exhaust, etc... THEN I get to start spending some real money when I address body and paint. Oh joy.

I bet it runs better with compression on all 4 cylinders! Patrick showed me your head gasket. Not good...

Sounds like you're close to a point where you can just drive and enjoy it for a while before you take it off the road for paint. That's a good place to be.

How about a little meet up and caravan to the LeMay event on Sunday morning for the people north of Seattle? We could meet at 8:00 or so in Ballard and head down by 8:30 with a little group of 02s (or other BMWs).
