Be careful on this one, I've seen it before, before the recover, it has a pretty significant ding on one of the spokes (left one) plus its one of the paint stamped alpina logo ones, not as rare as the stamped in metal (engraved) one, plus they seem to have a higher tendency to be reproduced (knockoffs).

I'm not in any way saying this one is a reproduction, but just giving a heads up.

GO-LLY, THAT PRICE NUMBER.  :o

It is a original one! I'm not selling faked parts.

Nobody is saying you are mate.

It was just a comment in general about these kind of wheels. Yours without taking the recover into consideration meets all the criteria of an "original" one.

The original chrome plated Alpina horn button ring, the general patina on the wheel, the fact that its a "Flat" Momo Prototipo, and im gonna go on a limb and say that its stamped in the back with the MO-MO logo with the letters stacked on top of each other. Are all things that grant it an "original" status.

Anyway, I'm truly sorry if any of my comments offended you in any way, that wasn't the idea.

I've been looking for one of these for a long time now, but without luck. I just want one all original, unmolested, don't really care if it looks a bit like crap...

Yes, it has also the right MOMO insignia on the backside.

Contact me have a lot of other original ALPINA stuff, maybe also a steering in the condition you are searching for.

Best regards

I bought a new MOMO Prototipo, I erased the Prototipo letters and engraved (not painted) the Alpina logo :)

Fernando, that actually looks pretty cool!

I always thought that the "prototipo" logo was engraved in the new wheels.

Certainly looks like a viable option if I don't find one.

La verdad quedó divino!

Abrazo!

All new MOMO steering wheels (included Alpina steering wheels) have stamped in white paint the wheel model (Prototipo, alpina, etc) name, only the brand MOMO is engraved in the wheel, then you can clear easy this paint.

The alpina early wheels have the text "alpina" engraved, not paint like the new wheels, the last year I bought a new alpina 4 spoke steering wheel directly from Alpina and come with the "alpina" painted in white, not engraved :(

I decided engrave alpina vintage letters in this Prototipo and really looks very good, like early models

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
