Recommendations: 3 Days, Sf To Seattle

Greetings,

I'm going down on te 28th to pick up a car in San Francisco. I have 3 full days to drive it back to Seattle (29th-31st) and I'm bringing my 12-year-old son along. A good excuse for a father/son quickie road trip in the new car.

My start/stops were probably as follows:

-Santa Rosa,CA to Crescent City,CA

-Crescent City,CA to Garibaldi, OR

-Garibaldi,OR to Seattle,WA

I was pretty much planning 101 all the way. Hoping to see some redwoods... lots of coast.

We don't have a ton of spare time, but wanted to know if anyone had any 'must-see' recommendations along the way. Fun stops. Or recommended places to stay in/around Santa Rosa or Garibaldi.

Any advice is appreciated.

While in Santa Rosa, visit the the Charles M. Schulz museum (Peanuts comic strip).  My wife and I visited there on our honeymoon back in 1995 - still have fond memories (and very worn-out t-shirts).   www.schulzmuseum.com

If you can work it in, the Harold Lamay auto museum near Tacoma is amazing. Largest private auto collection in the world. Some 2500 cars. Google it for details.
