WTB tii tension spring

Hi

I would like to replavce the tension spring located inside the tuna can on my 74 tii. Part number is 13541256062. None seem to be available from the usual vendors - any help is appreciated. I prefer a new one

If Rob doesn't have it, no one will (new one). You can replace it with another spring of similar length, may be MaMAster have something similar

thanks - we have a fastenal account at work - a non specific spring may be my only option.

thanks for another tip. tough to tell for sure but that one does not look like mine. The numbers are not the same either. German EBAY is a good option for searching that I had not considered

Not just any spring will work in that location. Let us know how it works out for you.

Make sure this pin on the underside of the "tuna fish can" lid is positioned to keep the eccentric cam from rising upward.

Just so you know, the spring in your photo is installed upside down. Hence the rub marks on the cam.

I believe those marks were made from the old spring. I installed the new spring so that it does not rub (or at least makes minimal contact). Installing the cover with the pin in the wrong location will allow the cam to push upward and possibly...contact the spring.

My car runs much better with the new spring. I have another spare throttle body that may need a spring. Will keep in touch with you if you have additional ones available.
