I don't think it is worth the hours it would take you to strip and polish old ones, when new ones are are only $30 :)

thanks for the part numbers. After doing some research about scratches in anodized aluminum, you are correct - buy a new part but if I recall, that part is not easily removed/replaced. I will try the search function and see what pops up.

I believe its just riveted in place. You'll have to pull the rubber seal out of the way, drill out rivets, remove, rivet new trim in place. Not sure there's much more to it. ?? I replaced mine last summer. What a difference.
