  2. Spin on or cartridge type filter, any preferences ?Ive blown the occasional seal on the spin on ones, maybe the older cartridge ones may be better.?

  5. yes there are a few different makes out there some are crap, I have a Meyer on and have had a good run with it , Use the correct bolts as well, cheap insurance in the long run.

  7. Has anyone replaced the solex dual throat carby with a 38/38 weber on an automatic 02.The solex is very worn (shafts) and I was thinking of this for an upgrade , the kick down cable set up might be a bit of an issue.Any thoughts? Wife likes the auto so its not getting a manual swap.

  9. Can anyone help me out on the part number for the rear seal on the gear selector shaft(BMW 2002 4 speed)? In also assuming it might be the same seal as on the 5 speed or not .Cant seem to find it on REALOEM or W&N.

  11. Has anyone had problems trying to match Golf paint ?Even though they have the 070 code (acrylic paint)it still comes out yellow not that greenish tint of the original paint ?Any advise?

  14. Agree 195/50/15 fit really well, dont rub and a good selection is available.

  16. 4 inch angle grinder, normal grinding wheel for steel , You dont have to remove very much at all, keep putting your rim back on and wriggling it a bit to leave a mark on the caliper . And yes a 2mm spacer will also work, very early rims the ones that take hub caps wont fit.

  18. Yep they are bloody great , perfect fit .Contact adhesive around the edges , then lots of pegs leave for a while, I left them over night , put new clips on ...jobs done . By the time I did the forth one down to 10 mins a panel.Beaner you going on the 02 run on the 29th?

  20. Paint stripper works, dont use scourers or heavy steel wool, I just did mine using a jell paint stripper ....one slat at a time , slow process.
  21. I just squirted some neutral cure caulking compound in there.(Used a silicon gun)
  22. Yes the hole where the indicator fits into, the after market ones a bit rougher. How to fix the gap , the right way , not easy but doable , weld an 1/8 filler rod to the trailing edge of the guard, then fill and file .If thats not enough you do the same to the leading edge of the door.
  23. I think the repo guards and doors are slightly smaller than the original if that helps at all.
