Someone should grab this

Looks pretty good for a late '73tii..BMW must have employed someone who loved Malaga. Rust issues in the rockers may hurt the value. Would want to see more of the undercarriage.

I notice there is a toggle switch on the steering column (cold start bypass?), but the wiring doesn't seem connected at the solenoid.

The rust hole appears to be in the bottom of the front fender (not the rocker). My car was just like this too, and there was no other rust underneath.

- He should have photos of the under carriage though.

- The headliner looks to be hiding a problem. Mold or rust?

- Door cards are cut.

- I like the leather seats though.

- Painted trunk

- Can't see if its got a snorkel

- Battery appears to have sprayed acid (wrong battery for tii)

Sure other will find other probs.

- Todd

Looks like it simply needs attention in some areas from someone who knows what they are doing. I lived near the ocean just south of SF for four years, the rust does exist out there and even farther inland because of rain and condensation. Rust they get will be from rain and moisture getting into places where it can cause problems, but not nearly as aggressive as the salt-caused rust we have in other parts of the country.

The car is almost 40 years old, and that needs to be taken into consideration, too. Probably not a bad deal given the background info that comes with it and the general appearance as it is. I'm thinking it would be a good deal in the 5-6k range, but then I'm a bottom feeder.
