Boy the 2800's are coming out of the woodwork lately.

Been seeing them all over the typical selling forums.

Just me own observations, I could be wrong, it does happen.

i beleive they are coming back into view on the new idea wich most customizers have on vintage vehicle to make them their own and have something unique, google Mike Burroughs and RUSTY SLAMMINGTON,the scene has changed and this is the way its going .this is Rusty Slammington’s Successor is a Pristine 1971 BMW 2800CS...

Yes Mike has a very nice 2800CS but this is not the direction that most e9 owners are taking. Engine and handling mods yes, airbags no.

I could be wrong, but I remember reading in his thread that his 2800cs has stock suspension riding on his 18" BBS Super RS's.

Actually I am pretty sure because he said that the car was in the same exact condition as when he purchased it for that shoot, minus slapping on the front airdam and RS's.

Of course it is just my opinion but at some point it is no longer a car to be enjoyed driving but becomes a toy to display at the local low rider gathering. I thought the footnote of slammed on airbags was Mike's. Beautiful photos on his site though.

If this is what E9's are coming to, (and 02's for that matter)

its time to get out of the hobby and simplify....maybe buy a rocking chair
